The Consumer Spending Index (CSI) Switzerland increased by 4.8% in June 2026 compared to the same month in the previous year.

The increase was broad-based across regions and driven by higher spending in the category Retail: Food, beverage, tobacco (+8.5%). Expenditures in the category Retail: Fuel stations continued to grow (+9.4%), although less strongly than in the previous three months.

In contrast, expenditures in Accommodation declined by 6.1%, with large regional differences at the point of sale: spending fell sharply in Zurich (−35.9%), Northwestern Switzerland (−20.8%) and the Lake Geneva region (−19.4%), while it remained flat in Ticino. This decline was partially offset by an increase in expenditure for Accommodation via E-commerce (+27.7%).
